The Newfoundland
The Newfoundland is believed to be on of the breeds used to create the
Leonberger, so it seemed to be a natural addition to our four legged family.
This large dog is as much at home in the water as he is on land. There are
many tales of the Newfoundland saving the lives of men and women shipwrecked and
brought safely to shore. They have powerful hindquarters and a large lung
capacity which enabled them to swim long distances without tiring. Their
thick, heavy coat helps them to withstand cold conditions and water
temperatures. The Newfoundland is a true working dog used for carting,
carrying heavy
loads and water rescue.
The Newfoundland, has become known as a great guardian, family member and baby sitter for all children. His gentle disposition and caring personality makes him a wonderful family addition. The Newfie is a loose lipped breed and can drool, especially after getting a drink.
We have acquired some incredible Newfoundlands, chosen for
their
confirmation, size and temperament. If you are looking for a family, water
dog, child's companion, and a watch dog with some size.........this might just
be the perfect breed for you.
