My wife and I have been involved with dogs all of our lives. Growing up, she was active in dog obedience, became a dog groomer at 17 and worked with a Vet as a second job. After she was married, she raised and showed Siberian Huskies, finished two dogs to their Championship and titled others. She also started her own obedience school and worked with many different breeds of dogs. I was an avid hunter and trained bird dogs many years ago.
Her love of obedience got her into Herding dogs, where she began to raise German Shepherds. She showed dogs in both conformation and obedience and became a certified tracking and drug trainer, helping train dogs for the police department. Over the years she raised German Shepherds, Belgian Tervurans and Shetland Sheepdogs. After the children were grown and in college, she went back to work at a Veterinary clinic as an assistant in surgery and patient care.
When we came across the Leonberger. we immediately fell in love with this truly amazing breed. After much research, we had our first female imported from a show kennel in Europe. It was not long after that we had to have another. Their calm, patient nature fit perfectly into our lifestyle. We now live on a 165 acre ranch where we raise Leonbergers, Newfoundlands, Bernese Mountain Dogs and Peruvian Paso horses. Our grandson loves to come to our ranch where he can be a real cowboy and play with the dogs and horses.
Our goal in breeding dogs is to breed the very best possible representation of the breed. We carefully select our breeding stock,, breeding our females once a year. All of our dogs are tested for Hip Dysplasia and other genetic defects. Just a brief word about OFA.. They do an excellent job of "grading" hips but that does not guarantee that future generations would not have hip dysplasia. It only tells you something about the dog submitted for certification and not his offspring!!!
WE TAKE GREAT CARE TO OFFER ONLY THE BEST REPRESENTATION OF THESE MAGNIFICENT BREEDS AND BY NO MEANS RESEMBLE ANYTHING LIKE A "PUPPY MILL". PLEASE DO NOT BE MISLEAD. WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO VISIT US AT OUR RANCH AND SEE ALL OF THESE GENTLE GIANTS AND HOW THEY ARE CARED FOR.. REFERENCES ARE AVAILABLE AT YOUR REQUEST. PLEASE DO NOT BE INFLUENCED BY WHAT YOU MAY HAVE READ AT VARIOUS WEB SITES, MAKE YOUR OWN DECISION! If a puppy should ever have to be replaced, we do not require or demand that you give up the puppy that you have already bonded to. All that we ask is a Vet statement as to the condition of the puppy and a spay or neuter certificate and we will gladly send you another puppy, plus shipping, from the next available litter..

Our true love is our animals and working and playing with them. At any given time you will find anywhere from three to six of our pets sleeping on the front porch or playing in the yard. These are our pets, companions and best friends.
If you are looking for a family dog that has been raised with love, attention and is a healthy puppy that comes with a written health guarantee, micro-chipped, with a full series of puppy shots and wormings, and even a baby book, screen saver or slide show. We hope you will consider us and our dogs over the many other breeders out there. Remember that the definition of a "club" is a large blunt instrument used to inflict pain on others.
